It seems every product we interact with on a daily basis is becoming “smart”, “IoT-enabled”, or “connected.” While people may think this is simply a marketing gimmick, Cold Jet understands the many advantages to utilizing these types of technology, especially in our dry ice blasting and production equipment. Before we look at the benefits of implementing new methods of connectivity, let’s first define what they mean:

Jokey is one of the largest packaging manufacturers of rigid plastic in the world. The company fabricates plastic buckets, boxes and trays according to a process of plastic injection molding.

Prime, Tack & Seal Company (PTS)  in West Chicago, Illinois, specializes in spraying prime and tack coats, as well as applications for dust control, chip and seal and aggregate slope paving on a large variety of road projects. PTS applies an asphalt mixture to existing asphalt or concrete surfaces and to new construction sites prior to asphalt paving. This mixture helps prep the surface before the top layer of asphalt is applied by plugging voids in the surface, hardening the top layer and helping to bind it to the overlying asphalt.

1. Mold cleaning

Dry ice blasting systems have helped automotive molders meet stringent industry demands such as 6-Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance). Dry ice blasting allows operators to clean molds while they are still hot and in the press. Cleaning with dry ice enables molders to optimize their manufacturing process by cleaning contaminants from cavities, vents and hard-to-reach places faster, better and more economically than traditional methods.

Brinkmann Formenbau GmbH is located in the Lower Saxony city of Mühlen, Germany. With around 50 employees, the company manufactures spray-castable, stamping and foaming tools for the automotive, agriculture, sanitary and medical industries.

Rossi’s Fine Italian Cuisine Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has been proudly serving locals and tourists alike since 1987.  The restaurant experienced a fire, which caused smoke and soot damage throughout the 10,000 square foot restaurant.

Frija waffle bakery, Fritz Jaspert KG was founded in 1913 in Westphalian Hamm, Germany. Today it is one of the leading ice cream waffle factories in Europe.

There are 18 hydroelectric generators at the Hoover Dam. These generators tend to build up with grease, dirt and oil with use.
