Industry-Leading Innovations

Cold Jet has pushed the boundaries of dry ice blasting technology with several groundbreaking innovations:

  • SureFlow Feeder System: Our patented SureFlow Feeder System incorporates thumpers, ramrods, vibrators, and an insulated hopper, providing optimal hopper agitation for a consistent flow of dry ice.
  • New Motors, Gearboxes, and Cabling: The new motor array is built with ultra-cold temperature motors that keep working even after long blasting cycles. These components are built to withstand the rigors of demanding applications and offer enhanced durability and reliability.
  • Patent-Pending Defrost Cycle: This industry-first feature automatically or manually engages a defrost cycle, preventing downtime caused by frozen or clogged components.
  • Core Contamination Control: This innovative system protects the machine's core components from dust and debris, reducing maintenance requirements.
  • Applicators: Cold Jet has introduced new 2-function (3-button) Precision &  Performance applicators and repair kits for these applicators.
Patent-Pending Defrost Cycle:

One significant advancement with the PCS ULTRA is the patent-pending Defrost Cycle. This new feature combats moisture accumulation. The Defrost Cycle activates motors and introduces warm air to remove ice blockages. Operators can initiate the cycle manually. Additionally, the system provides real-time feedback to operators, displaying motor RPM and the position of the PCS to indicate the progress of ice removal. Furthermore, the system includes automatic warnings when switching to microparticles to alert operators of potential cooling effects and the availability of the defrost feature if needed. This innovative feature offers automatic and manual modes for optimal control and performance.

Core Contamination Control:

Another innovation on the PCS ULTRA is the critical upgrades to its contamination control system. These improvements are designed to enhance the system's reliability and productivity while minimizing the risk of contamination. By adding "skirts" to prevent contaminants from being drawn into the unit, removing the O-ring between the PCS and feeder, and implementing a cover on the positioner lead screw, Cold Jet has significantly reduced the potential for dirt and debris to enter the core. Additionally, introducing a bulb seal gasket and solvent-welded core components further strengthens the containment measures. It eliminates the need for temporary sealing solutions. These enhancements collectively aim to maximize uptime, optimize performance, and improve the overall operational reliability of the system.

Applicators:

The last enhancement that we wanted to highlight is the newly redesigned applicators—an essential component that operators interact with daily. We have invested significantly in enhancing their reliability and performance. With our internal electrical controls revamped, we've dramatically reduced failure rates to just about 1%. This improvement translates directly to uptime: if the applicator falters, so does the entire machine. Our new design is not just a cosmetic upgrade; it features a sleek mode switch plate and advanced materials like Silicone Over Molded Applicator Switches and IP 67 rated Hirose waterproof connectors for enhanced durability. We’ve also implemented WEVO Potting to enclose electronic components, protecting them from environmental hazards. Plus, our applicators now have added static protection and are designed for field serviceability, allowing for quick, on-site maintenance. With repair kits like the 2K0589 for precision applicators and 2K0590 for performance applicators, operators can expect swift, economical repairs, maximizing uptime and ensuring the longevity of their equipment.

Other Significant Improvements:

Beyond the core upgrades, the Aero2 PCS ULTRA boasts a range of improvements designed to boost overall machine performance and user experience. These upgrades include a redesigned internal layout with consolidated pneumatic components for easier maintenance, color-coded tubing for clear identification, and more durable blast hoses and performance applicators. The PCS ULTRA also features new single-piece side panels for improved structural integrity and professional aesthetic, a revamped bumper for easier hose connection, and upgraded components like casters, hose hangers, and power connectors for better functionality and durability. These improvements aim to optimize the user experience and ensure the machine's longevity, positioning it as a top-performing solution in the industry.
