Best Practices for Machine Storage & Transportation

Many of the dry ice blasting machines are not used by the customer continuously, or in the same place, which is why all systems are designed for simple, safe, and mobile handling in order to be able to work quickly at different locations.

Storage

RetractableHooks

Always remove any remaining dry ice from the hopper if shutting down the machine for more than 15 minutes to prevent the internal mechanics from freezing. If the machine remains stationary at the workplace, it should be depressurized and the power cord unplugged. It is recommended to disconnect all cables and hoses from the machine to prevent kinking. Then stow them on the machine’s onboard retractable hooks, handlebars, or other accessory management system. The machine should also be kept in a clean and dry place to ensure reliability.

Plant Transportation

Aero2Strapping

Follow all instructions as illustrated in your machine's operator manual to avoid damage. It is recommended that only trained and qualified personnel use and move the machine. Strapping the machine for extended periods of time is not advised. Always remove any straps or rigging prior to operation. To transport short distances using a forklift, use the method illustrated in the manual. Secure the machine before lifting or moving on a forklift to prevent it from sliding or falling off. Lift the tires about 3-5 inches (8.5-12.5 cm) off the ground to move the machine.

Shipping

MC2 Transport

If the dry ice blasting machine is to be regularly shipped from multiple locations, it is advisable to keep the pallet supplied by Cold Jet. The machine can then be strapped down exactly as it was delivered, thus enabling the safest transport. Secure shipping reduces the likelihood of damage in transit. Contact Cold Jet's Customer Service team for additional shipping instructions or if you have any other questions or concerns.
