Optimum Dry Ice Feed Rates

In this edition of Cold Jet Academy, we will discuss how to optimize the dry ice feed rates on your machine.

When it comes to the dry ice feed rate setting, more dry ice usage does not always equal more performance! Each nozzle has its own recommended dry ice feed rate that is associated with its air consumption rating. Higher air consumption nozzles generally require higher dry ice feed rates and vice versa. By using amounts of dry ice above these ranges, optimal performance decreases and consumable costs unnecessarily increase.

Most product catalogs and operator manuals include nozzle charts that detail air consumption ratings and dry ice feed rate ranges per nozzle, among other things. To find the optimum feed rate, start at the lowest value of the range for your nozzle and gradually increase until the desired cleaning result and/or cleaning performance is achieved. Please consult the product catalog and operator manual for your machine.

Some models include the Lock setting, which allows management to set a unique three-digit code in order to prevent users from making unnecessary adjustments for settings like the dry ice feed rate. See the Aero2 PCS 60 "HMI Screens" training video to find out how to use this setting. For more information, please consult the operator manual and training video for your machine.
